Tiny but Mighty Life Changing Tips

At any given moment, someone can come along and change your life. How long will it take for you to realize, that person is you!?

I don't write that to sound insensitive or like a know it all. I write it because in my 12+ years of working with people in this industry, I have found one very common theme:

When it comes to the little stuff and the non-negotiable responsibilities we have a general understanding that if we don’t do it, it’s not going to get done:

  • paying bills

  • folding the laundry

  • grocery shopping

  • doing the dishes

  • filling the gas tank

  • the list goes on, but you get the gist

But when it comes to life changing commitments, we habitually seek the quick fixes and all of the answers outside of ourselves.

    A couple of examples:

  • establishing a fitness routine

  • discovering the dietary habits that support feeling our best

  • un-learning self sabotage, hyper-critical and toxic thought patterns that keep us stuck

  • educating ourselves to empower a healthy and happy life

Honestly. I get it. I think that we understand how monumental making changes like these could be and we tend not to trust ourselves with the responsibility of making these changes happen on our own. In other words…We underestimate ourselves, and we shouldn’t!

Yes, you can find a coach, a program, a diet, etc. to tell you exactly what to do and you will very likely see results. This kind of guidance and support can be really helpful in getting started (believe it or not, you are not supposed to know how to do everything, or where to begin on your own)…but what’s important when you are leaning into this kind of support from someone or something is that you are engaging in self study and personal discovery so that when the diet, the program, the coaching sessions have run their course, you are empowered and informed with tools and experience to support you on your continued journey!

This is why at The Energy Barre and through The Energy Barre On Demand we prioritize consistency, variety, quality and education over specific programing. We want to ensure that you have dependable access to the tools that will help you in discovering the practices that support your unique life! Still we understand that structure is helpful too, so we offer seasonal programming to take a guided deep dive with you, when you’re looking for that kind of thing.

So my tips for the day:

1- get clear about what you want to achieve and why it is important to you.

2- seek support, structure, guidance, whatever it is you need to get started.

3- go with “the program” and engage in self study by asking questions and finding the answers for you.

4- when the program has “run it’s course” take time to apply the tools you have learned and strengthen the trust you have in yourself (rather than immediately seeking the next person, place or thing with “the answer”).

5- remember that at any given moment, someone can come along and change your life…and that person is YOU!

I believe in you, and we are here for you!

xx, J
