You've decided to set big goals, to take on new commitments, and to do so to better yourself.
This mentality is refreshing and exciting in January because we believe that there is more for us to get out of life:
By February, the fresh excitement can grow dull and become less of a priority because what we have done is taken on more. When living a very full life complete with employment, familial, social and personal obligations, the idea of taking on more is something that can quickly become undesirable.
So, before we get to February, before the new wears off, let's take some time to consider what we are truly doing by taking on "more" through a resolution or a new commitment to 2017.
We are creating space for more:
More self love.
Remind yourself that you had a reason for taking on this commitment back in December, and you are worthy of allowing yourself to do what it takes to follow through - to receive all of the benefits that this commitment delivers. You are worthy of more, but you have got to make space for it.
So, to create space for all of this MORE, you probably need:
Less couch time.
Less toxic influences.
Less saying "yes!" to everything.
Less resistance to the life you deserve.
So when you begin to feel a little overwhelmed, when you begin to feel like you have taken on too much, remind yourself that you are creating space for more. Then look around, and get rid of what you don't need to make space for what you do.
