This time last year I didn't even know how to pronounce "barre." It's amazing to think how much can change in a year. I'll always remember 2015 as the year I discovered The Energy Barre.
Before The Energy Barre I was never an athletic-type of girl. Exercising always felt like a chore that I was also really bad at. I was unhappy with my local gym options and ready to try something new.
I am so happy I found the Energy Barre in February 2015 (I found it randomly online and didn't know anyone!). I immediately loved the vibe and the community. I was able to do the moves too! After all, we are only moving our leg an inch or sticking our arms out straight ;) . I thought, I could be good at this! Then, I quickly started to see changes in my body, which motivated me even more. For the first time ever I wasn't just working out because I thought I should; I was working out because I absolutely loved it. I loved the way I felt and looked! Soon enough, I was texting my mom, "I'm addicted to barre!" and she assured me it is a good addiction to have!
In 2015, I made fitness and health a priority. I started eating better, I tried new classes and teachers, and I pushed myself harder. I completed the Summer Sizzle Challenge, losing over 12 inches total. I kept up with my fitness routines while balancing a busy work schedule in Cambridge. Last year, I didn't own a car, but if I couldn't borrow one, I'd just walk to the studio! Even when I was on vacation I found a barre studio to try. I completed two more fitness challenges, feeling so inspired by the ambition and strength around me. I've loved challenging myself and surprising myself! I am forever changed because of The Energy Barre.
2016 will be a very special year for me and I plan to make EB a big part of it! In October I got engaged! Now I am feeling even more motivated to keep up with my fitness plans and barre classes so that I can be looking fabulous on my wedding day! I know It will be a busy year, but classes keep me feeling happy and more relaxed. This year I am excited to participate in more challenges and get to know more women in the EB community! Cheers to 2016 and all the good things to come at the studio!
